Feeling Disneyfied

When I was little I used to watch a lot of disney movies. When I mean a lot, i mean, A LOT, but the funny thing is now after many years and watching those cartoons again I finally realise so many hidden meanings. Like the many sexual innuendos that have subtly emerged time and time again in many disney classics. I found this interesting site, go see for yourself the many hidden meanings!

The event of a generation

This latest movie was saucy, sexy, spicy and scary (not too scary, a good scary) but the point is I loved it!
obviously the movie is never going to be like the book, but i think this time the movie came pretty damn close to the description in the book. Hats off to David Yates, job well done! I can't wait for the last installment, I give this movie a 9/10. 9 because the anticipation for part 2 is killing me!! lol JK that was a bit of an exaggeration, but it felt a bit unfinished just a tad bit. hahaha

Goodbye Sydney ..

So it's been 3 weeks since i've been on holidays, and nothing much has happened. Well I have been busy planning a trip to India with my besties, we're doing a tour of the SOUTH (kerala kochin etc) . It's gona be Supercalafredgalistic, fingers crossed! I go every couple of years, and last time i went to rajasthan, but this time i'm going with FRIENDS and family (but more so with friends), which is why its going to be 10 times better!
Unlike the typical "NRI", that is; someone who loathes travelling to india because of the pollution, society yada yada.. I, In fact, Love it! Probably because

a) my cousins are Cool, when I mean cool, I mean totally untraditional. They're the same age as me and we totally get along.
b) I love travelling, I went rajasthan last time, it was oh so beautiful. The palaces, the culture, I see myself as a socially and culturally literate person and love learning about society and culture. As I see myself as an outsider to the different cultures india has to offer, I find it enriching to understand how different walks of life, live.
c) well how can I forget Shopping!, although it may seem hazardous at times squirming through the overwhelming crowds, who can't enjoy a good bargain?

hmm thats about it for now.

oh and of course HARRY POTTER comes out today! YAYAYAYAY
i'm going to watch it on Sunday though, so i'll keep you guys posted on how that goes! I'll try not to be to harsh though, and compare it with the books and all.

Aur revoir!

my oh so cute beagle

cheers, enjoy!

It's raining tennis balls in Sydney!

So I made this video today! Sorry about the quality, enjoy :)

Im Going to start Video blogging soon!

so Uni's Over for this Year! and I finally have heaps of time to spare which is why i'm going to begin Video blogging. I've always wanted to do it but it's always been a question of letting loose my identity. To that I have to say: fk it, no-one's going watch anyway so who really cares? I'm just doing it for the experience, I don't really care about views.

so stay tuned!

So I saw this guy ..

On the way back home on the train, I saw this guy (tall, dark and cute) as I went to sit in the bottom carriage area. He watched me as I walked around trying to choose a seat. I swear I could kinda feel him look at me from time to time on the ride back. He even got off at MY stop! His shirt said 'Mr Greedy' I smiled at myself, I wanted to turn around and say hello but I didn't.

Should I have? Or is that a recipe for an extended uneeded awkwardness. Mind you, I looked Tired and yuck from a day at uni, so my chances of him looking at me like 'WTF girl, u freak, u talk to strangers' were high. Will I ever see him again? god knows.. but if HE had started talking to me first I probably would have started talking. Sometimes I just need a kick.

That's something that has always annoyed me, that is: why should IIII have to always start the convo, even on msn, because frankly i'm over it. Like, I understand everyone can be shy from time to time but I like a man who's confident. Who's with me?

Life as I know it.

I havn't been blogging for a while now, been so busy with uni assessments and honestly I forgot I had a blog. I don't even like going on the internet anymore, I used to be such a net addict but nowdays, this cyberworld seems so superficial. Especially facebook. Everything on facebook is so self centred, all you can do is: like stuff, change status, comment or join a cyber group. so not fun, i have finally realised.
Whatever happened to talking in real life, I know there's a phone for that and I also am aware that it is partly my fault for being a lazy person for not calling friends but everyone's always busy now, busy with life, uni, work or other things. Hopefully the holidays can salvage my social life, (rolls eyes). hehe.

Why is life so unpredictable, some days nothing ever goes your way and some days it all just pans out lovely like a movie. right now i'm more in the first bit. hmm I watched the proposal the other day, loved it! Ryan Reynolds is oh so adorable! and Bullock does well to emulate that typical devil of a boss.
I give this movie an 7.5/10 , although the story was kinda of predictable, I still thoroughly enjoyed the comedy, as well as the oh so cute ending :)

hmm what else has happened? I watched the closing ceremony of the commonwealth games today! Brilliant! To top it off India came 2nd in the medal tally, right after Australia :)
I think that's been the best games ever for India, congratulations!

hmmi think im not going to b on the net not so often anymore because frankly i'm over it. i wana talk to real people. who's with me?

Superficial or not?

So recently I watched Aisha and yes! I loved it! Excellent plot line although it is based on Jane Austen's classic novel 'Emma', I think the director gave it a good indian flavour.

HOWEVER i've also heard mixed reviews about this movie, some critics and also my friends have slashed out saying the movie is entirely 'superficial' and does not represent what India really is like. To that I have to say, well every country has it's good points and bad, why must artists always show a bit of the bad side, in order to validate to the audience that it is in fact India and NOT a foriegn country.

hmm besides that, some people have also said 'the director should have casted a better actor for the character Arjun. To that I have to say: if girls face so much pressure to look good, it's exactly the same for guys. Probably more Physically demanding, but the point i'm trying to get to is that, THANK YOU for casting someone different and someone REAL. More importantly I like the charm in this character, nawww.

All in all i give this One an 8.5/10; only because Sonam's ditzy character got a tad bit annoying for my liking.
^ One of my favourite scenes; very cute!

I Shall end on a bimbo quote from the movie:

"what does that mean??" Aisha in response to "get a job" (it's better when you see it"

Smart Arse Comments

Congratulations Caroline!

An excellent performance after watching the highlights, but what I found more entertaining was her cheeky comment at the press conference.
When asked for her thoughts on her very short skirt (which was an extremely stupid question), she replied

"I hope I get more male fans now" followed by a lengthy chuckle.

I can't explain it properly, but if you have time here's the link:

I found that quite funny, like who asks questions like that. Some journalists these days; it's all about the looks not the talent. she just won against THE maria sharapova, who cares what she's wearing. Besides those sports dresses have tight shorts attached to them anyway.

Hope she finally wins a grand slam! better luck next time Maria!

On another, a not so smart-arse comment made earlier in the week was by Stefanie Rice. When she posted

"Suck on that f--gots," Rice tweeted."Probs the best game I've ever seen!! Well done boys."
After the wallabies victory over South Africa.

Personally I don't find that offensive, I don't even find that 'homophoebic' as it's been dubbed. There are so many versions of the one word these days, just go on thesaurus.com. haha (i actually havn't, but I bet there are) For instance there are heaps of versions of 'lol', some people actually laugh, some people just use it as a conversation shifter. lol , you get the point ;)
Any celebs you guys know, that have let a slip of the tongue?

Is the glass half empty or half full?

I don't know what it is, but I feel empty for some reason. Don't get me wrong I am grateful for everything I have, and I am happy with my life, but now and again I get that feeling that something's missing. Something's out of place. Like the feeling I left the iron on at home, like i'm forgetting something but really I havn't. It's an odd feeling, maybe I've taken the wrong turn or maybe's i'm just too lazy to think about it. What is it? I wish I knew.
I know I will eventually figure out what it is, but till then i'm still in limbo.
Is the glass half empty or half full?
God knows.
What are your thoughts?

Facebook events

When you make a fb event and people either dont reply until the day before or they comment
"so sorry, i'm busy that day"

all I want to say is the world doesnt fkn revolve around YOU! just becoz you are not going doesn't mean that the event is going to be a total loss. can't someone make an event just to find the general consensus. i'm just annoyed. not that i make events, because the best events are always spontaneous!

letting my thoughts spill

There are are countless embarassing moments in life, sometimes it can be too embarassing to talk about. Sometimes you just over think the issue and make it more embarassing than it actually was, which was zero embarrassing to begin with. It's such an awkward emotion, it's like you're not happy but you're not sad either. odd. it is.

So it's been a long time coming since I last blogged, and boy, so much has happened!

I did the most 'what feels like' the most stupid thing to ever do. hmm think? Yes I did it, I told someone I liked them, only to find out that they like someone else. *facepalm*

I put myself out there ;when there was no need too, I humilated myself at understanding so called 'body language' and once again I created uneeded, unwanted and unecessary awkward tension. Why do I do this to myself? why can't I just Shut my big fat mouth up and do things conventionally, like proper human ettiquette. Even now, why am I documenting such embarassing information?

i'll tell you why:

a) I have only 2 followers

b)unless I post this on facebook, no-one will ever know this blog ever even existed. (mind you I am curious to see people's responses, thats IF people would comment on a weirdo blog like mine, 'i mean cmon girl get a life' would be my thought} so no fear.

c) because I genuinely don't give a fck

ok, where was I.. Oh yes, but do I regret all this shit I put myself under?
No never, I make a decision then stick to it and justify my thoughts by "you only live once".
what's life without a bit of embarassment to spice it up ay?

Here are some movies that have excellent embarassing scenes (note: I kept them G-rated ) :

Anyone know any others?

Ok so what else has happened?

I finished reading 'True Believer' by Nicholas Sparks, he's such a brilliant author and has got quite a spark in his writing. hehe, despite this I give this book a 7.5 /10. I think it was quite sluggish to start of with and the end had too many twists & turns for my liking. Make your mind up dude! do you like her or not? just stick with it, save me the heartache. So yeh, I think 2010 has been the year i fell in love with nicholas sparks, his books that is, of course.

2008-2009 - was the year I forced myself to finish the twilight series, only because I wanted to know what the fuss was about! A big fail whale that was.

prior to 2008 - I obsessed over narnia and more importantly Harry Potter!!

So what else happened?

I painted my room :) sky blue ceiling and lime green walls, sounds gross but looks pretty =]

thats it for now adios amigos!

Inception Review

I watched Inception yesterday, brilliant idea! Dreams in Dreams haha who would have dreamt of this. Hmm i give this a 8/10, an 8 because the end was just plain annoying. Hands down for the effects though, so super Cool! if only..
What else has happened.. well I learnt that dogs wag to the right when they're happy! who knew..? Hmm still havn't had a reply from the many jobs i've applied too..life sucks right now.
Gahhhh, still in the middle of painting my room. Such a tedious process.
Masterchef FINALE on Sunday, for a show that I dismissed when it first started, it's pretty Good!! no joke. Hope Callum wins because I feel he's the underdog, and I always root for the underdog because I feel like an underdog in life. haha reminds of my beautiful beagle pluto and the movie Underdogg!! That was an ok movie too, I'd give that a 6/10 simply because I am not a HUGE fan of children's B-list flicks.

omg Uni starts tommorow

Oh my god, Uni starts tommorow!!
What shall I wear? How should I do my hair? Do I havvve to get up in the early Morning??
What if that guy notices me today? <-- (giggles at the last one)
The point is Holidays are a bliss, with not a single trace of worry in the world, Life is so good. Time is on a standstill. No literally, when it gets to the point during holidays where you can't remember the date, the day or what time of the day it is. That's when it finally feels like a true Holiday which is funny because it is quite in contrast to the original meaning of Holiday. That was : Holy (as in religious holy) - day. ahha so much for that.
Well this holidays wasn't just about slothing around, I can now proudly say that I can drive Independantly =] BoOyeh! Now I just need a Sexy car.. soon.
Hopefully, Semester 2 first year University shouldn't be to bad. Semester 1 wasn't that bad either, mehhh..
Aur revoir!

The art of modern conversation; ethics, problems and solutions

Lets talk facebook and msn ethics, problems and solutions:

1.What do you do if that long lost friend you've added doesn't reply to your wallpost, and you know they've seen it because of their status updates?
the 'right' thing to do: ignore it, maybe they just cbf
wat i would do: DELETE, ur not worth being my friend

2. When a person drops out in the middle of a convo..
* for an old friend that's fine, because you know they'll always come back and chat
If it's a new friend and they never make the effort to come back, well obviously stop waiting because they're not interested.

3. When you dont understand their lingo in a convo
solution: be honest and tell them WTF. Coz talking in weird accents and writing styles, ain't Cool it's just bloody annoying.

4. What do you do if the person you are talking to chats in rapid bursts, and you happen to be a slow typer?
Solution: if you see them typing, STOP what you were about to say. Chances are they havn't finished and if you 'but in' its gona get awkward, unless you like laughing at awkward situations and making a goose of yourself. That's perfectly fine then.

5. If the other person NEVER makes an effort to chat, BUT when you start the convo they chat as if you've been best mates forever.
Answer: Chances are they're not interested by you and only continue the conversation because it's the polite thing to do and they don't want to hurt your feelings and lead you on.

6. What do Huge time gaps mean in a convo?
It means that one of you is genuinely busy with other things, but keeps the conversation moving along because they do genuinely care about what's happening in the other's life.

7. Is it ok to use the little 'lol' or 'haha' as a tool to push the conversation along?
This is a tricky one.. But I think here it depends on whether you know their 'real' laughing symbol. usually it's a LOL or HAHAHA or hahhhahaha, if you know that symbol then I think it's perfectly fine to use this tool.
If you don't know their signature laughing symbol, then it becomes extremely problematic to use this tool because you then don't know when they're truly laughing. it makes it awkward if what they said is not really funny.

That's it for now, comment if you know a problem or an ethical issue regarding modern conversation. or a better solution.

*note this is only a guideline; everyone interprets signs differently.
that's the beauty of communication!

"AL feer Ah Zen" like Heidi Klum says in Project Runway

Let's talk Fill-Ems

Yes, I've always enjoyed watching a good movie or a good fill-em as I like to call it hahaha, whether it's a 4 hour Bollywood Bonanza or a 1 hour Disney Animation. I love it, I breath it in and appreciate every second. ok so maybe the last aspect is a bit of an exaggeration, but you get the point. I love a good story.

Recently I watched Toy Story 3, for a 90s kid like myself I thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes the Monkey was Super freaky and Barbie+Ken duo worked well to muster a rom-com atmosphere. Yet more importantly it was the concept of leaving behind one's childhood forever that captured my attention the most. Nawww.. that is why I give it a 9/10. A 9 because the "lets go back home" storyline got a tad bit repetitive despite the multiplicity of complications. haha I don't even know if multiplicity is a word.

I also Watched Angus thongs and perfect snogging, again... that movie just doesn't seem to get too old for me, yet. I think i've talked about this one before, but yes I enjoy teen rom coms. They can get a Very predictable, with the "the not so ugly, low self esteem teen girl who falls in love with that one gorgeous boy, who neverr notices her" story line. This rings true for princess diaries, Never been kissed, Lizzie McGuire (hehe) and blah blah blah. Yet it's those awkward scenes, whether it's talking to parents or just acting plain stupid in front of a large audience, that I love the most. Embarassment is Epic! hate that word it's used way too much nowdays to describe anything really. Yet I still use it, hymph. whatever. Epic epic epic =O

And lastly, here are some upcoming Bollywood fill-ems ;) that I can't wait to watch.
'Aisha', which has Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol (who Idid not know till I googled him) , looks pretty good. Although the trailer is a predictable like all rom coms, the fashion is exquiste. I'm not a huge fan of Sonam, i'm going to give her a go and not bag her out. Like it's only what her.. 2nd or 3rd movie, ay?

Still on Sonam, in 'I hate luv storys' she doesn't look that bad in that either. Another movie I can't wait to watch, also starring the once charming Imran Khan; what happened to him after Jaane tu ya Jaane na? Can they both live up to the hype the sensational soundtrack has created (in actual fact only one song) ? we'll see.. lulz <- that's also an odd lingo that has been used wayy to often in msn convo just to push the convo along.

And for the record, I talked about Kites in one of my other blog posts, but heard it was a Super Dooper FAILURE. So much for that. *eye rolls*
Another Epic Fail, was the good for nothing hype of the movie 'Ravana' starring Aishwariya and A.B. Ash you were once the 'IT' girl, you were hot, well you still are hot, BUT no one wants a sad sluggish screamfest. Go make a baby for a change, you are like 37 something right..? J.K, not that you're ever going to read this. haha
I will end on a very corny pickup line =/
I hope you know CPR, coz you take my breath away!
hahaha laughs at self.

What's with the 2012 Olympic Mascots??

Two very distorted teletubbies, that's what comes to mind when I see Wenlock and Mendville the two mascots of the 2012 London Games. Neither are they cute, nor are their names catchy like Syd, Millie and Ollie from Sydney 2000 Olympics.

Ok fine, so they're not cute, fancy or catchy but they must have an interesting story behind their creepy appearance, right?

Two drops of steel from a steelworks in Bolton (A town in greater Manchester). Yep that's about it. As for their names Wenlock refers to the town 'Much Wenlock' which became a forerunner for the current Olympic Games. Mendville also refers to a town called 'Stoke Mendville' where the first Paraolympics were held.

Out of everything in London they had to pick these two. Ok fine, it has the names have that historical factor behind the mascots, then just keep the names or create nicknames even. Such as Wenlo and Mendo, that's sounds 10 billion times better. Maybe it's just an Australian thing to shorten anything too long, whilst the rest of the world prefer to talk in mouthfuls.

Seriously, imagine a little kid at the games saying to their parent, whilst pointing at a squishy toy; "please, please please buy me a Wenlock daddy!!" in that typical nagging tone, that kids can so easily muster. It sounds dirty even.

Enough about their names, now what about their appearance? Does it remind you of teletubbies or the aliens from the simpsons perhaps.

Yes, we in the modern world are very Tech savvy and Sci-Fi driven people and movies such as Avatar and the Star wars series are very popular. But this creepy one eyed looking thing (apparently representing Taxi headlights) as the mascots for an ancient human warfare, called the Olympics. well not warfare, i'm exaggerating but you get the point.

There's even a storyline for these drops of steel called 'Out of a Rainbow', youtube it if you want.

When I think of London I think of Double decker buses, that Giant ferris Wheel called the London Eye and Mr Bean's Yellow car.

Maybe i'm just reaffirming the stereotypes and not embracing this new wacky 'modern' creature. This new unisex creature can even be symbolic of our modern values, especially towards sexuality. Maybe Castor Semenya does have a real place in our world after all?

I'll end on an Avatar note

Jake Sully "i'm a warrior of the .... Jarhead Clan"

So why do I want to meet these people?

1. Maria Sharapova: She's one of the best tennis players on tour and because I love Tennis, =]. I Particularly loved the way she played when she won 2004 Wimbledon and 2008 Australian Open.

2. J.K Rowling: She is the author of Harry Potter Series!! Thus I need not explain.

3. Giorgio Armani: I want to meet him not so much because of his fashion style but more because his story. I read a snippet of his autobiography, and was really inspired.

4. Gurinder Chadha: she's the director of Bend it like Beckham, Angus Thongs and Perfect snogging and coming soon It's a Wonderful Afterlife. I love the way she directs, the screenplay, the stories and best of all the comedy love it all.

I have discarded my 5th person who was steven spielberg, I don't know but i don't really want to meet him any more.

That's it for now.

Power or Skill?

What is skill in a sport? It is the art, the elegance and wit that gives sport it's beauty.

Note this is not an essay but I do want to make a point, a very sad point. That is, football, as the English say it, is one of the only left sports that is still surviving solely on skill. It hurts me to face up to this realisation as I am huge Tennis fan, but the truth must be brought to Light. Athletes nowadays, (not that i'm super old) are getting 'Higher, faster and Freakier' as David Runciman in his article for the Guardian puts it. Basically he discussed whether the rise of the Super-athlete was ruining sport?
Is it? From Usain Bolt to Serena Williams he makes a valid point in stating that power dominates, and in many cases sucks out the drama. They're Tall, muscular and have excellent ability to control power. Sure footballers are the same, yet they have to outwit the other player without using power. It is this aspect that also makes soccer soo boring. There are games where a goal isn't made for what feels like hours, which is why I still prefer to watch tennis anyday.

I'm still going to watch the world cup (haha like a few games), I honestly don't know why. I thinks i'll watch it for the shere reason that it is the world cup, Soccerooos FTW although it's by a long shot, can't help but root for em! Since i'm on a football note, i must add that i'm currently watching Bend it like Beckham. LOVE that Movie!! I can watch this movie again and agian and again, its a very obvious 10/10

Not only does it raise important issues like women in football or more obvious the cross cultural differences, but because it so fluidly integrates it with comedy. hmmmm I really want to meet the director Gurinder Chadha one day for sure :)

Here are some of my favourites quotes

> i can turn these mosquito bites into juicy juicy mangoes

> where do u usually play?
in the park

no .. i meant what position?

>What family would want a daughter who can run around kicking footballs all day but can't make round Chappatees?

>everyone likes beckham
no i really lke beckham..

> She's not lebanese she's Punjabi!

I'll end with and OLAY! im feeling hot hot hot! olay olay olay olay i'm feeling hot hot hot!

You're my Exception

This Book was AMAZING, yes it was heart wrenching but there was something else about it that made me want to read on. I can't exactly pinpoint what it was, I think it was the simplicity of how Jamie and Landon fall in love. Well it wasn't thaat simple, but also the spontaneousness of how it all happened. Makes me wonder, is there such thing as fate? destiny? or even soulmate?

hahahaha, for a second I wondered but these things always happen in stories, not in real life.
Not yet at least ;)
Anyway I give this book a 8/10 because in the beginning it was a bit boring and annoying because you can forsee some parts very clearly. Anyway I still thoroughly enjoyed it!

I want to believe it will happen one day..maybe not now..maybe not in years..but one day. For sure. XD

Like Gigi says in 'He's just not that into you' ;
Gigi: I would rather be like that than be like you
Alex: Excuse me what's that suppose to mean?
Gigi: I may dissect each little thing and put myself out there so much but at least that means I still care. Oh! you think you've won because women are expendable to you. You may not get hurt or mke an ass of yourself that way but you don't fall in love either. You have not Won. You're alone. I may do a lot of stupid shit but i'm still closer to love than you are.
nawwwwwwww I love Gigi in that Movie! That was a 9/10 movie for me, 9 because I didn'y like the actress who played Bradley Cooper's wife. And the Engagement ring part, oooo loved that!

On to an ACTION note. I recently saw the trailer for 'Knight and Day' starring Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise.

SURPRISINGLY it looks quites good, better than the trailer for the 'Bounty Hunter' which is along the same storyline but Super FAILED at the box office.
Anyway happy reading or watching or whatever you enjoy doing. Even Rock climbing ?
I will end on a sweeter note, Alex to Gigi "you're my Exception"
love that line

A lengthy train ride +
the cosy/warm/snugness of my bed +
lazy afternoon light +
HOT hot Chocolate milk = I FINISHED reading Dear John !!

If you love reading heart renching romantic stories then this is a guarantee 10/10 =]

Although the end was annoying in a way, I couldn't help but fall for the everchanging, everevolving and evergrowing beauty of love conjured by Nicholas Sparks.

can't wait to watch the movie now YAY =]

This is my third first blog

hmm..this is my third 1st blog, the other two are now lost forever in cyberspace.

I recently watched Housefull (hindi movie) I give it a 6/10 it was Funny but way too melodramatic for my liking. Deepika Paudukone looked hot as always and Akshay Kumar worked his charm, but their was something about the movie that just didn't seem to click. Lara Dutta looked older than Ritesh Deshmuckh ( don't know if i spelt that right, but you can Google who I mean) .

Anyhow i've heard IRONMAN 2 was good, but there's no story line. I havn't watched it yet. I dunno but there's something about action movies that always seem so predictable. Scarlett looked hot though, as she always does.. I don't think i'll go watch it.

And also, the hype about 'Sex and the city 2' , how old are they already like a million years old. I think I will watch this one, more for the sake of watching it, rather than being 'super-duperly excited' as the media plays up all women should be. The trailer seems kinda of predictable though, especially in regards to where Carrie and Mr Bigg's relationship is heading.
